We see, analyze, and
control movement
AB&T is a software company based in Ivrea, operating in the field of industrial automation,
developing technologies that makeMotion Control increasingly efficient and easy to use.
The company was founded in 1994, but it draws on the experience and expertise developed within a major company, synonymous with advanced technology in the field of automation and numerical controls since the 1970s, when the first multi-arm assembly robot SIGMA was designed (watch the video in Italian).
This forty-year experience led AB&T to develop, using current programming technologies, AxesBrain™, a modern software component that can be integrated into systems requiring Motion Control and CNC.
The company emerged from diverse experiences in both factory automation, where robots, production machines, and processing machines were integrated into automated systems, and in numerical controls applied to machine tools and robots with devices for part recognition and measurement.
In parallel, VisAlgo™ was designed as a valuable tool in machine vision, capable of solving alignment and part recognition issues in a simple and integrated manner.
Over the years, the application of these two products has proven to be particularly effective in the development of machines used in various fields, from transfer systems to laser cutting, from drilling machines to warehouse automation, from dynamic driving simulators to lens processing using electronic cams.
Since 2006, AB&T has been a member of the EtherCAT Technology Group.
Given the continuous growth of EtherCAT® and the opportunity to easily create “general purpose” slave devices using boards like Arduino, in 2015 AB&T developed the EasyCAT Shield, a board to be mounted on Arduino to create a wide variety of possible EtherCAT® slaves in a simple and cost-effective manner. Due to the success of this initiative, we decided to expand the possibilities to the Raspberry Pi world with the EasyCAT HAT, and to all other types of microcontrollers with the EasyCAT PRO. Subsequently, other similar devices such as the EasyCAT Gateway and I/O modules like the EasyIO and the EpoCAT IO1616 were also developed.
which covers everything from recognition and orientation to part measurement.
AB&T's activities have focused on axis movement (Motion Control), part recognition through machine vision (Machine Vision), and integration and communication in the world of production and information (Industry 4.0). In the "Motion Control" sector, AB&T has developed a product for axis control, AxesBrain™, which allows managing various types of hardware devices and is based on an extremely flexible structure in terms of both scalability and machine types. In the hardware domain, AB&T has developed the EasyCAT family of boards, designed to simplify the creation of EtherCAT® slave devices.
AB&T has chosen the personal computer as a technological tool and primarily uses:
- the Microsoft™ Windows™ environment
- Drivers
- COM/DCOM technology with related specializations ActiveX™ and Server
- C++, C# languages
- Microsoft™ SQL Server™ and MySQL™ Databases
